The Spirit of Discovery is a small ship, built in 1976 for the now defunct American Cruise Line, this is one of Cruise West's most popular vessels and offers ample outside deck space and easy access to the spacious bow area.
The ship accommodates 84 passengers and cruising where the larger cruise ships cannot reach. Spirit of Discovery is 166 feet in length and cruises at 13 knots. The vessel is casual the food delicious and the all American staff is friendly and helpful.
The first thing guests notice when stepping into the Discovery Lounge aboard of Spirit of Discovery is light, air, and views - wide picture windows port and starboard, and a wall of floor-to-ceiling windows facing forward. Backing the delightful scene are a bar and library with exquisitely detailed woodworking.
The cabins aboard Spirit of Discovery are very snug but comfortable, with light, B&B-ish decor and lower twin or double beds. The Discovery, one category has upper and lower bunks, and deluxe cabins have queen-size beds. All cabins do have a built-in intercom system.
